| Vegan Banquet Draws Big Crowd Twice per year (spring and Thanksgiving), the Utah Animal Rights Coalition organizes a benefit vegan banquet. The banquet, in honor and memory of one of UARC's founding fathers, Barry Platis, was held on June 16th at the University of Utah. The event was a great success, with over 100 people attending. Besides delicious food, there was a raffle, a moving documentary of U.A.R.C., and a literature table about factory farming and other animal issues. Special thanks to Jason Hardy for obtaining a huge number of items from local businesses for the raffle. Thank you as well to all the others who helped set-up, clean-up, create and send out ads, and put up posters. This event takes many dedicated volunteers to put on, but the result was everything we had hoped for. Many thanks to all the great business who donated to the banquet and the raffle:
