    About Us

GSARA is a community group in Salt Lake City, UT working to promote the awareness and advocacy of speciesism as a social justice issue, one that's as real as racism, sexism, homophobia, heterosexism, anti-Semitism, and oppression based on class, religion, age, ethnicity, national origin, or disability.

We hope to expand the range of political debate and to incorporate all of these ideas into a comfortable, friendly atmosphere where questioning of any view or motivation will be positive and productive.

Most importantly, we stress compassionate understanding and equalitarian interaction in the hope of creating a more cooperative and progressive community.

    1. GSARA also strongly advocates vegetarianism for ethical, environmental, and health reasons.
    2. To accomplish these goals, GSARA uses methods such as educational meetings, protests, leafleting, video showings, tabling, and providing support for and information about other social justice movements.
